+ The Japanese zodiac is known as Eto (or Kanshi) and is adapted from the Chinese zodiac. Now you bring the imagery of this traditional calendar to your daily life with this remarkable series of Japanese Eto Zodiac Maki-e Fountain Pens by Pilot. Maki-e is the old technique of sprinkling gold powder onto a lacquer material, conjuring up a simply dazzling picture. There are fountain pens available in designs featuring the twelve Eto Japanese zodiac animals: Rat (nezumi), ox (ushi), tiger (tora), rabbit (usagi), dragon (tatsu), snake (hebi or mi), horse (uma), sheep (hitsuji), monkey (saru), rooster (tori), dog (inu), boar (inoshishi or i).
